ASTM A53 Gr.B carbon steel is widely used for pressure pipelines due to its stable mechanical performance and good weldability. The material typically provides a minimum yield strength of approximately 240 MPa and tensile strength ranging from about 415 to 550 MPa. Its chemical composition is controlled with carbon generally below 0.30 percent and manganese up to about 1.20 percent, ensuring a balanced combination of strength, ductility, and welding performance. The SCH80 wall thickness significantly improves resistance to internal pressure, mechanical impact, and external loads, making it suitable for more demanding service conditions.
