API 5L X65 PSL2 is a high-strength pipeline steel designed for demanding environments such as offshore oil and gas transmission. The material typically provides a minimum yield strength of approximately 450 MPa and tensile strength ranging from about 535 to 760 MPa, ensuring sufficient resistance to internal pressure and external loads such as seabed stress and wave-induced forces. Its chemical composition is strictly controlled, usually limiting carbon to around 0.20 percent, with manganese levels up to approximately 1.70 percent and microalloying elements such as niobium or vanadium to enhance toughness and strength.
