BME Material Performance
BME is an ISO 3183 PSL2 strength level corresponding to the L245ME grade designation. For wall thicknesses up to 25 mm, L245ME has a minimum yield strength of 245 MPa and tensile strength of 415–655 MPa. The "ME" designation indicates thermomechanically controlled delivery, supporting a refined microstructure, balanced strength and suitable toughness. PSL2 requirements also involve tighter chemical composition, mechanical testing and quality control than PSL1. Huayang can provide ultrasonic and radiographic weld inspection, hydrostatic testing and dimensional inspection according to project requirements, with external 3PE or FBE coating available for pipeline service.

Pipe Protection
Pipe-end protection is advisable in case the pipe-ends are bevelled at the pipe manufacturer. In the case of overseas transport, there is an especially increased risk of damaged pipe-ends. This is caused by extra handling procedures in ports and shifting of the pipes onboard vessels.
In addition to end caps or protective rings, external wrapping with protective cloth can be applied along the pipe body. This wrapping helps to safeguard the coating surface from scratches, moisture, and contamination during long-distance transportation or prolonged outdoor storage. Especially for coated or painted pipes, the additional protective cloth layer significantly reduces the risk of mechanical damage, UV exposure, and corrosion initiation, ensuring the pipes arrive at the destination in optimal condition.
