Ст2 Material Performance
Ст2 is a low-carbon structural steel grade specified under the GOST 380 system and is commonly used for general engineering and welded steel products. Compared with Ст1, it provides a higher strength level while retaining suitable weldability for conventional fabrication. GOST 10704 defines the dimensional range for straight-seam electrically welded steel pipes, while the associated technical requirements cover steel grades including Ст2 and Ст3. For general fluid transportation, the pipe can be manufactured with dimensional inspection, weld nondestructive testing and hydrostatic testing according to the applicable product specification and project requirements. Pipe Protection
Pipe-end protection is advisable in case the pipe-ends are bevelled at the pipe manufacturer. In the case of overseas transport, there is an especially increased risk of damaged pipe-ends. This is caused by extra handling procedures in ports and shifting of the pipes onboard vessels.
In addition to end caps or protective rings, external wrapping with protective cloth can be applied along the pipe body.
