ISO 3183 specifies PSL1 and PSL2 requirements for seamless and welded steel pipes used in petroleum and natural gas pipeline transportation systems. LSAW is one of the applicable submerged arc welded pipe manufacturing routes.
L320NE Material Performance
L320NE is a normalized or normalized-formed PSL2 pipeline steel grade corresponding to the X46NE strength level. For wall thickness up to 25 mm, it has a minimum yield strength of 320 MPa and minimum tensile strength of 435 MPa, with a maximum yield-to-tensile ratio of 0.85. The grade provides a balanced combination of strength, toughness and weldability for transmission pipeline service. PSL2 also applies tighter chemical, mechanical and inspection requirements than PSL1. Huayang can provide weld nondestructive testing, hydrostatic testing, dimensional inspection and other quality controls according to project requirements.

Pipe Protection
Pipe-end protection is advisable in case the pipe-ends are bevelled at the pipe manufacturer. In the case of overseas transport, there is an especially increased risk of damaged pipe-ends. This is caused by extra handling procedures in ports and shifting of the pipes onboard vessels.
