Material Performance and Application
ASTM A106 Grade B is a carbon steel grade specified for seamless pipe in high-temperature service, with a minimum yield strength of 240 MPa and minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa. Its balanced strength, ductility, and carbon-manganese composition make Grade B widely associated with steam, process fluids, hydrocarbons, and elevated-temperature industrial service. For an ERW product, however, ASTM A106 should not be presented as the governing welded-pipe manufacturing standard because ASTM A106 covers seamless pipe. Huayang can manufacture the 457 mm ERW pipe using an applicable welded-pipe specification selected according to the project design, while maintaining controlled forming, high-frequency welding, dimensional inspection, weld testing, mechanical testing, and hydrostatic testing to support reliable performance in industrial piping systems.

Pipe Protection
Pipe-end protection is advisable in case the pipe-ends are bevelled at the pipe manufacturer. In the case of overseas transport, there is an especially increased risk of damaged pipe-ends. This is caused by extra handling procedures in ports and shifting of the pipes onboard vessels.
In addition to end caps or protective rings, external wrapping with protective cloth can be applied along the pipe body. This wrapping helps to safeguard the coating surface from scratches, moisture, and contamination during long-distance transportation or prolonged outdoor storage. Especially for coated or painted pipes, the additional protective cloth layer significantly reduces the risk of mechanical damage, UV exposure, and corrosion initiation, ensuring the pipes arrive at the destination in optimal condition.
