Material Performance and Application
ASTM A106 Grade B is a carbon steel grade specified for seamless pipe in high-temperature service, with a minimum yield strength of 240 MPa and minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa. It is valued for its strength, ductility, and suitability for elevated-temperature applications such as steam, hydrocarbons, and process fluids. For this product, the ERW manufacturing route must be accepted by the project specification, because ASTM A106 itself covers seamless pipe. Huayang's ERW production uses high-frequency welding with controlled forming, weld inspection, dimensional verification, mechanical testing, and hydrostatic testing. Where an ERW pipe is required, Huayang can manufacture against an appropriate welded-pipe specification selected according to the actual service conditions and project requirements.

Pipe Protection
Pipe-end protection is advisable in case the pipe-ends are bevelled at the pipe manufacturer. In the case of overseas transport, there is an especially increased risk of damaged pipe-ends. This is caused by extra handling procedures in ports and shifting of the pipes onboard vessels.
In addition to end caps or protective rings, external wrapping with protective cloth can be applied along the pipe body. This wrapping helps to safeguard the coating surface from scratches, moisture, and contamination during long-distance transportation or prolonged outdoor storage. Especially for coated or painted pipes, the additional protective cloth layer significantly reduces the risk of mechanical damage, UV exposure, and corrosion initiation, ensuring the pipes arrive at the destination in optimal condition.
