Material Performance and Application
API 5L Grade B PSL1 has a minimum yield strength of 245 MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa, providing a balanced combination of strength, ductility, and weldability for conventional oil transmission service. As a carbon steel line pipe grade, Grade B is widely used in gathering lines, oil transportation networks, and associated petroleum infrastructure where PSL1 requirements are appropriate. Huayang manufactures DN350 ERW pipe using controlled forming and high-frequency welding, with strict control of weld integrity, straightness, outside diameter, and wall thickness. Hydrostatic testing, weld inspection, mechanical testing, and chemical composition analysis can be performed according to the applicable API 5L requirements. For buried oil pipelines, FBE, 2PE, and 3PE coatings are available to improve external corrosion resistance and support long-term pipeline operation.

Pipe Protection
Pipe-end protection is advisable in case the pipe-ends are bevelled at the pipe manufacturer. In the case of overseas transport, there is an especially increased risk of damaged pipe-ends. This is caused by extra handling procedures in ports and shifting of the pipes onboard vessels.
In addition to end caps or protective rings, external wrapping with protective cloth can be applied along the pipe body. This wrapping helps to safeguard the coating surface from scratches, moisture, and contamination during long-distance transportation or prolonged outdoor storage. Especially for coated or painted pipes, the additional protective cloth layer significantly reduces the risk of mechanical damage, UV exposure, and corrosion initiation, ensuring the pipes arrive at the destination in optimal condition.
