ASTM A500/A500M covers cold-formed welded and seamless carbon steel structural tubing in round and shaped sections for welded, riveted or bolted construction.
ASTM A500 Grade A Material Performance
ASTM A500 Grade A is a carbon steel structural grade with a minimum tensile strength of 310 MPa and minimum yield strength of 230 MPa for round sections. It provides suitable strength and formability for general building frames, supports and fabricated structural components. The HFW process creates a continuous longitudinal seam by heating the formed steel strip with high-frequency electrical current and applying pressure to join the edges. Huayang can provide dimensional inspection, weld quality checks and mechanical testing according to the applicable specification and project requirements. Pipe Protection
Pipe-end protection is advisable in case the pipe-ends are bevelled at the pipe manufacturer. In the case of overseas transport, there is an especially increased risk of damaged pipe-ends. This is caused by extra handling procedures in ports and shifting of the pipes onboard vessels.
In addition to end caps or protective rings, external wrapping with protective cloth can be applied along the pipe body. This wrapping helps to safeguard the coating surface from scratches, moisture, and contamination during long-distance transportation or prolonged outdoor storage. Especially for coated or painted pipes, the additional protective cloth layer significantly reduces the risk of mechanical damage, UV exposure, and corrosion initiation, ensuring the pipes arrive at the destination in optimal condition.
