For water transmission pipelines, DN900 LSAW pipes are typically produced using API 5L grades such as L290 or L360, providing minimum yield strengths of approximately 290 MPa and 360 MPa respectively. The chemical composition is strictly controlled, generally limiting carbon to around 0.20 percent while maintaining manganese levels between 1.20 and 1.60 percent to ensure strength and toughness.
